How long does it take to measure a house?
We like to budget 1 hour for every 2000 square feet. Therefore, if your house is 3000 square feet you can expect us to be measuring on-site for just over an hour. Accuracy is more important than speed so we like to take the time to get things right.

How accurate are your floor plans?
We take every step possible to ensure accurate floor plans. No tape
measures and no outsourcing. We take measurements with a laser distance
meter with a measuring accuracy of 2mm over 150m – 99.999% accuracy! We
have also chosen to forego the outsourcing of our AutoCAD work. All of
our AutoCAD drawings are done on site. |

How long in advance should I order?
Ordering 2-3 days in advance is optimal. That being said, at Real Estate Floor Plan Solutions we understand that time is often of the essence and we are typically available on short notice 24/7. But earlier is always better.

How do you measure your floor plans?
As we live in the 21st century we don’t use tape measures. We take measurements with a laser distance meter with a measuring accuracy of 2mm over 150m – 99.999% accuracy! We then use AutoCadd to draw your plan up. After we are done on site all the floor plan needs is a little polish and it will be in your hands within 24 hours.

What is Errors & Omissions Insurance? Why is it important?
If there is any discrepancy about the square footage of a home after a sale and lawyers get involved, you are off the hook. The fact that our floor plans are errors and omissions insured provides you with peace of mind while guaranteeing our work at the same time.

How Long will it take to measure my building and deliver completed floor plans?
Residential Generally our Technician will spend about one hour on site to measure a 2,000 square foot home. The plans are delivered by email within 24 hours of the appointment along with the area data sheet. The invoice is processed once the square footage is finalized. |
|
Commercial The complexity of the layout and the level of detail requested will determine how much time is required. Typically, our Technician can measure and draw about 50,000 square feet per day. Plans are usually delivered by email within two business days. |

Why should I get a home measured?
Realtors If you frequently list homes in areas where the homes are older, have been modified, or are larger you may not be able to get an accurate square footage measurement from your usual sources (previous listings of the property, or from the Tax Appraisal District). Even if you’re listing a newer builder home the diagram and measurements provided by the builder may not be accurate. |
|
Home Owners If you are selling your home on your own as a For Sale By Owner (FSBO) you need to be certain that your home is the size that you represent it to be. |
